Did you know that, as a stem cell donor, you could save someone’s life?
For patients who have to undergo a stem cell transplant, stem cells from a donor are often their last chance at life. Stem cells from a young donor (18-35 years old) will give the patient the best chance of survival. Therefore we are looking for students who want to register as a stem cell donor!
Usually stem cells are collected via blood. A large number of potential donors are needed just to find one matching donor. The chance of a match between two random individuals is very small. Therefore, it is so important that as many people as possible sign up to be a donor.
